Roofing Day Preparation

We’re so glad you chose Belmont Roofing to take care of your home roofing needs. To help everything run more smoothly, we’ve put together some tips and information that will keep us all on the same page. Of course, if you ever have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us and we’ll get your questions answered and needs addressed right away.

WHAT TO DO

Once your roof has been scheduled, these simple preparation tips can help make for a smoother experience for everyone:

  • Remove valuable items like photos or decorative vases from your walls and yard.
While we take care to protect your property, rare accidents do happen during the shingle drop-off and roofing process. Keeping your valuables out of the yard or off the walls can help take further steps to protect them.
  • Mow your lawn.
This can help in the clean-up process to make sure that no roofing debris is hidden in the grass.
  • Make sure your car is out of the garage and the driveway is clear on the day your roof is scheduled.
The containter to dispose of your old shingles will generally be placed in your driveway early in the morning of your scheduled work, so having your car out of the garage will ensure you still have access to leave once the container has been delivered. It will be removed the next business day after your roof is completed.
  • Make sure power is accessible to the outside of your house.
If an outlet is only available in the garage, please leave the door open, or provide an access code. If any inside switches need to be turned on to provide power to an outdoor outlet, please make sure they are on. If no power is available, please let us know in advance so that other preparations may be made to provide it.

Here’s WHAT TO EXPECT

Your shingle delivery

Once your roof is scheduled, we will order your shingles. These will often be delivered prior to your scheduled roofing day, and generally will be loaded onto your roof.

In the event of a rain delay…

If it rains on the day your roof is scheduled, we will delay that work until the next day. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding of our ever-changing Texas weather.

No need to be home!

You do not need to be home for the shingle delivery OR the roofing work — in fact, often customers prefer not to be home! Just make sure your car is out of the garage so that it is not blocked in by the shingle disposal container.

The roofing process is messy!

But thoroughly cleaning up will always be a priority for us. Please rest assured that any mess that’s created throughout the day will be cleaned up before we leave.

Roof anchors

We will install one or more permanent roof anchors to help keep our crew, as well as any other professionals who work on your roof in the future, in compliance with OSHA safety regulations. These are generally not obvious from the ground, but do know that it will remain as part of the roof.

Gutter work

If you have contracted with us for gutter work in addition to your roof, we will have one of our specialized gutter teams schedule a time to perform that work separately. You should expect a second call from that team’s scheduler after the roof is completed.

Photo documentation

We take pictures to document our process throughout the day, and have a team of supervisors who will each stop by over the course of the day to monitor the crew’s progress as well.

Quality assurance

Within a week of your roof’s completion, a Quality Assurance specialist will visit to check over your roof, make sure everything was done correctly, and take additional photos.
